'Heroes': Limerick firefighters and bar staff save choking man's life
The quick-thinking bar staff and actions of Limerick Fire and Rescue Service “certainly saved the life” of a man who was choking to death, the Limerick Leader has learned. The man, who “turned purple”, had a lucky escape as the pub is located right beside the fire station in Limerick city so expert help was on the way in seconds.

County Antrim
At approximately 0315 hrs on Saturday morning 7th March fire crews from Carrickfergus, Whitehead, Ballyclare, Glengormley and a turntable ladder from Belfast responded to a well developed house fire in Carrickfergus, County Antrim. Due to the quick reactions of the initial crew, the fire was knocked down and prevented from spreading to adjacent properties. ~NIFRS North FB

County Meath
Gardai in Meath North dealt with seven road traffic collisions in the Navan area on Wednesday 28th January that left resources "stretched". A Garda spokesperson said units from Navan were called to three separate incidents at the same time (1:45 approx) as the collision on the bridge at the junction of the Athlumney Road and Navan-Dublin road which brought traffic to a standstill in the town and sparked a major river search after it was mistakenly reported that someone had entered the water.

County Louth
Three people were injured on Thursday 22nd January following a multi vehicle crash involving a truck and three vehilces. Fire crews from Louth Fire service, Gardaí and National Ambulance Service attended the scene.
