NIFRS were called to a fire in a derelict building at Samuel Street in Belfast City Centre at 0240hrs on Wednesday 31st May 2023. Six Fire Appliances from Central, Whitla, Springfield and Cadogan, two Aerial Appliances from Springfield and Knock along with a Command Support from Lisburn, 40 Firefighters & 8 Officers attended the scene. Local residents were requested to keep windows closed. The incident went on throughout the early morning and was brought under control just before 17:00hrs. ~NIFRS Official FB

A specialist team of firefighters from White Watch Crescent Link Fire Station responded to an animal rescue incident on the banks of The River Strule in Newtownstewart Wednesday afternoon 29th March. Working in conjunction with On-Call colleagues from Newtownstewart to effect a rescue of a dog which had become trapped on a ledge. Crews deployed a rescue sled to effect a successful rescue of Josy a 2 year old black lab who was returned unharmed to his delighted owner. ~NIFRS West FB

Searched were conducted on the water and on land. Nothing was found and crews later stood down.

County Derry / Londonderry 21st June 2022
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) confirmed they attended a well developed fire which was reported at around 8.20pm on Tuesday 21st June. They said three appliances including an aerial device were called to the scene. Crews from Crescent Link and Northland Road Fire Stations were deployed to tackle the blaze, which spread across four derelict three-storey terrace houses. Firefighters used three jets to extinguish the flames and the incident was dealt with by 00.23am on Wednesday 22 morning.

At 8.35pm Tuesday night 20th October Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) attended a fire in a yard in Rathenraw Industrial Estate, County Antrim. At the height of the incident there were 5 Fire Appliances & an Aerial Appliance in attendance. Firefighters worked hard in challenging conditions to tackle the fire.
They used 7 jets to extinguish the blaze, and also prevented fire spread to adjacent buildings. Unfortunately 18 lorry trailers were destroyed by the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to have been deliberate ignition and the incident was dealt with by 1.33am. ~NIFRS Belfast 14th October 2021

Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has declared a major incident in the Mournes, Co Down. Firefighters were called to reports of a fire in the old Downe Hospital in Downpatrick, County Down on Tuesday 9th February. Over the course of the incident 9 Appliances attended the incident including 2 Appliances from Downpatrick Fire Station, 2 Appliances from Knock Fire Station, 2 Appliances from Ballynahinch Fire Station, 1 Appliance from Newcastle Fire Station, an Aerial Appliance and a Command Support Unit.
Firefighters used ladders to fight the fire externally and wore breathing apparatus to enter the building and fight the fire internally. They used 2 hose reel jets and 2 jets to extinguish the fire, which was confined to the ground and first floor of the building. A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) Spokesperson said:
“Between midnight and 5pm today (25 August) we received 49 flooding related calls and attended 28 flooding incidents across the Newcastle, Maghera, Draperstown and Cookstown areas. “Working in challenging conditions, Firefighters, with the support of other agencies, rescued 37 people from flood water. This included 9 people from a house on the River Road in Draperstown, along with 4 people outside the property who were trying to provide assistance before the arrival of Firefighters. “With more rainfall expected late into this evening, we have redeployed resources to deal with any further flooding whilst maintaining our normal emergency response. “Our Specialist Rescue Team, Flood Response Teams and local Crews in those areas continue to be on the ground working with our colleagues in the statutory and voluntary sectors to help keep people safe. “In the event of serious flooding phone the NI Flooding Incident Line on 0300 2000 100. At 4.30pm on Sunday 23 August Firefighters were called to a fire involving several properties and vehicles on Armore Avenue, Armagh. 10 Fire Appliances attended the incident- 2 from Armagh Fire Station, 1 from Keady Fire Station, 2 from Lurgan Fire Station, 2 from Lisburn Fire Station, 2 from Springfield Fire Station and 1 from Pomeroy Fire Station. Firefighters worked for hours to extinguish the fire, which was under control by 8.43pm. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental ignition. ~NIFRS.org

“On Wednesday 29 July 2020 at 10.57am, Firefighters were called to an incident at Port Road, Londonderry Port. At the height of the incident, fifteen appliances and approximately sixty Firefighters were in attendance, including high reach aerial appliances and a command support vehicle.
“Our Firefighters worked quickly to bring the incident under control, wearing breathing apparatus and using a range of jets to extinguish the fire. “I am pleased to say that there were no casualties and the swift action of crews ensured that neighbouring properties were protected and damage was minimised. The incident was dealt with by 7.35pm. In the early hours of Sunday 19 July Fire Crews from Rathfriland and Newry assisted by a Turntable Ladder appliance from Portadown Station dealt with this well developed fire in a house under renovation at Dromore Street, Rathfriland. On Sunday 24th May NIFRS attened an incident at Bombardier Aerospace, Airport Road, Belfast. The incident involved a factory unit on fire. NIFRS received the first call to the incident at 2045hrs with our first resource in attendance within 2 minutes. A total of 6 pumping appliances, 1 aerial appliance, a high volume pump with a total of 50 firefighters and supervisory officers engaged in firefighting operations to contain the fire.
Just before 23:00hrs NIFRS reported that the incident at Bombardier Aerospace was under control. Operations were being scaled back with a small number of resources remaining at the scene to damp down. The fire appears to have started in machinery and the cause of the incident is under investigation. At this stage the cause is believed to be accidental. Tuesday 12th of May 3.45pm Belturbet Fire Crews along with Kilashandra CN19 & Rosterd officer where tasked to assist Ballyconnel crew CN17 to a large gorse/forest fire located on the Ballyconnel mountains. The crews were assisted in there efforts to tackle this fire by Coillte using new (Drone) technology. As the fire progressed rapidly Coillte made the decision to call for helicopter assistance to do a water drop as the fire was progressing rapidly into a dense forestry area. Scene of a Major Fire at McKenzies scrap metal firm on Duncrue Street, in the north of the city on Sunday night 2nd June. A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) spokesperson said: “We received a call 11.51pm last night (2 June 2019) to attend a fire at McKenzies NI Ltd, Duncre Street, Belfast. “At the height of the incident, a total of six fire appliances, an aerial appliance and 44 firefighters were engaged in firefighting operations.
“Firefighters dealt with a large number of cars and scrap material on fire. The blaze was fanned by high winds and working in challenging conditions firefighters contained the fire to the yard area. “The incident is likely to continue into late afternoon and Duncrue Street remains partially closed. ~Belfast Telegraph County Derry March 2019
