Waterford City Fire Crews attended 2 x RTC’s on Friday 1st February one in the City and another in Co Kilkenny. No serious injuries thankfully. At incidents like this we are able to keep the road partially open and keep the traffic moving slowly and safely while we operate within safe area. This is where we do appreciate if passing motorists can keep their eyes on the road and keep the speed down as they pass.
The winter sun can be blinding to motorists as it is so low in the sky, please take care and drive to the conditions. As part of our safety measures we fend off from both ends, display warning signs, comes and beacons at least 100mtrs from the fend off, cone off the area we are working in and display our vehicles mast lights towards oncoming traffic as an advanced warning. ~WaterfordCityFireService FB Cork City 29th January 2019
