Firefighters from Skibbereen, Schull and Bantry along with backup from Midleton, Mallow and Ballincollig seen on scene of a Major Fire in Baltimore, West Cork Wednesday 20th June. Cork County Fire & Rescue Service were on scene throughout the day and a Hydraulic Platform was put in operation damping down pockets of fire from the air.

Cork City 27th May 2018
Time of call 21:21 - CO11A1, CO11A2, CO11J3 & CO11E1 (Anglesea Street Station) & CO12A1 (Ballyvolane Station) responds. Fire was under control within the hour thanks to the use of our 32m Bronto (Aerial Platform) and 45mm hoses. Whiles crews were in attendance at this incident three separate calls came in to Glanmire, George’s Quay and Bishopstown. Crew of CO11A2 were made available at the Devonshire Street incident to attend these calls.
Firefighters spotted a gas cylinder inside the building early in the incident (pictured below). These compressed gas cylinders cause concern for firefighters when heated. Cooling and monitoring of the cylinder took place throughout the incident until it was deemed safe. A transatlantic flight diverted to Shannon Airport on Friday afternoon 9th February after the crew reported smoke on board. British Airways flight BA-213 was en route from London to Boston in the US at the time. There were 239 passengers and crew on board. American Airlines flight #AA62 from Miami to Paris had to divert to Shannon Airport early this morning following a cargo hold fire indication. The Boeing 777-200 after landing was met on the runway by Shannon Airport Fire and Rescue Service and units of the fire service from Shannon Town. No injuries where reported from the incident.

Scene of a van fire inside the Jack Lynch tunnel in Cork City at 4am Monday morning 25th September. Due to the nature of the call and location of the vehicle much more safety precautions need to be taken into account but as usual the incident was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Tunnel management put their safety procedures in place and closed the bore involved and CO11A1 CO12A1 CO11J1 CO11B1 and members of the Gardai respond. Following a serious overnight fire in Waterford City Sunday night 9th April, Fire Crews successfully rescued a female who had become trapped in her bedroom due to a fire in her apartment. A transatlantic jet has made an emergency diversion to Shannon Airport Wednesday afternoon 8th March after the crew reported a suspected fuel leak on board. Jet Airways flight JAI-234 was en route from Amsterdam to Toronto when the crew reported the possible problem shortly before 1.00pm. There were 320 passengers and crew on board. Airport emergency services were put on standby for the jet which landed safely at 1.52pm. Monday 27th February United flight UA-56 was travelling from Paris to Newark, NJ in the US when the Aircraft suffered a cracked windscreen over the Irish Sea. There were 188 passengers and crew on board. The Boeing 767-300 jet was east of Belfast when the crew declared an emergency at around 9.30am. The crew opted to divert to Shannon even though they were closer to Dublin at the time. 11 units of the fire service from Cork City and County seen here dealing with a major fire at an old grain store in the village of Ballinacurra just outside Midleton town. It is believed that the fire started at around 03.30hrs and quickly took hold of the building and was fanned by very strong winds.

A man has escaped injury after his thatched cottage was destroyed by fire in County Clare Thursday evening 5th January. The fire broke out at around 5.15pm at the property in Bellharbour in the north of the county. It’s understood that passerby spotted flames coming from the chimney and alerted the occupant. The fire service was called and told there was a chimney fire at the property. A unit of the fire brigade from Ennistymon was sent to the incident however while en route, fire crews were told the incident had been upgraded to a domestic fire. A transatlantic flight diverted to Shannon Airport Tuesday afternoon 3rd January so that a passenger could be removed from the aircraft. Air Canada flight AC-875 was travelling from Frankfurt in Germany to Montreal, Canada when the crew turned around west of Ireland. A Christmas tree is believed to have started a fire in Clarke's public house in the village of Crusheen in Co Clare. The alarm was raised at around 08.15hrs and 3 units of the fire service from Ennis along with Gardaí attended the incident. 8 units of Cork City Fire Brigade along with National Ambulance Service (NAS) and Gardaí attended a large fire at a disused Apartment building on Lower John Street in Cork City. There where no injuries reported from the scene and Gardaí are investigating the cause of the fire.
County Waterford 25th November 2016
One man is in a serious condition in hospital after a fire at the Marina Hotel in Waterford City early Friday Morning 25th November. Another man was also brought to University Hospital Waterford and has since been discharged. The fire broke out in one of the bedrooms and the Fire Brigade was called just before 8am. Up to two dozen firefighters attended the scene earlier today. ~RTÉ News
