A transatlantic jet diverted to Shannon Airport Thursday afternoon 29th September after a passenger was reported to have suffered a heart attack. Air Canada flight AC-895 was travelling from Milan in Italy to Toronto, Canada and was about to cross the south east coast of Ireland when the crew declared an emergency. There were 194 passengers a crew of 9 on board the Boeing 767-300 jet. A motorist had a lucky escape after his van burst into flames ia a carpark in Ennis and quickly spread to another car The incident happened on Friday morning at around 08.30hrs. Two units of the fire service from Ennis attended the incident.

Fire Crews from Cork City Fire Brigade and Cork County Fire Service seen responding to Cork Airport on Wednesday 24th August. An Aer Lingus Regional Plane with 59 people and 4 passengers on board from Birmingham UK declared an Emergency after the Captain reported Smoke coming into the Cabin.
A Full Emergency plan was activated at Cork Airport which involved Cork Airport Fire & Rescue Service, Cork Airport Police, Cork City Fire Brigade, Cork County Fire Service, National Ambulance Service, Gardai and The East Cork Rapid Response Doctor The plane landed safely at 10:06hrs with no injuries to Crew or Passengers. The Emergency Plan was then stood down County Clare 19th August 2016
Scene of an Emergency Landing in Shannon Airport on Friday 19th August for a Transatlantic Flight from Orly Airport in Paris to Newark in the US at the time. There were 89 passengers and a crew of 5 on board.

Three units of the fire service from Ennis attended a fire at a Former Furniture store on Lower Market St in Ennis on Thursday the 4th of July. The street had to be closed for a time to allow Firefighters to deal with the blaze. Waterford City 14th June 2016
Scene from a fire at the Brass Cock Bar in the Woodlands Hotel in Waterford City. The Hotel and Leisure Centre had to be evacuated at the time of the fire. The fire was contained to the front porch of the bar. Several units of Waterford Fire Service attended the incident.
Cork City 8th June 2016
Scene from a fire at the Steak House & Seafood Restaurant on Camden Quay in Cork City. The fire which started at around 05.00hrs completely destroyed the building. Residents on the upper floor apartments had to be evacuated from the building. Five units of Cork City Fire Brigade attended the incident.

Morrisons Island in Cork City had to be closed to traffic after a slab of concrete fell from the former Moores Hotel. Several units of Cork City Fire Brigade attended the incident.

A passenger jet was forced to turn around over the Atlantic and divert to Shannon Airport early Tuesday 24th May after the crew declared an emergency.
