Dublin Airport 20th May 2016, "VLM 12LW", operating scheduled service from London Luton to Waterford, declared a PAN PAN PAN due to its landing gear not extending, and diverted to Dublin. After getting confirmation of the landing gear down and locked, but advised Air traffic Control that they would have no front wheel steering and that they would end up blocking the runway until they were towed off.
The aircraft established for arrival on runway 28, and crew requested a full emergency turn out. The aircraft landed, and crew held the nose wheel off the runway for as long as possible, once the nose wheels had made contact with the runway the aircraft continued to slow down veering slightly to the left side of the main runway and came to a safe stop.

On arrival brigade personnel removed one person from the river where she was later handed over to Ambulance Service. This incident happened around 2.30pm today the 10th of February.

Scene of a fire in a thatched roof home in Ballyfin, County Laois on Monday 1st February. 3 Pumping Appliances, 2 Tankers and 1 Aerial Platform were used, with 30 personnel from three stations (Portlaoise, Mountrath and Durrow). Extensive fire damage was sustained, however there were no injuries.
