County Wicklow 29th October 2024


Bray firefighters seen dealing with a minor fire on Bray Head overlooking the town on Tuesday night 29th October.



County Wicklow 30th September 2024


A family dog was rescued from a house fire shortly after lunchtime today, after several fire trucks were dispatched to the blaze Bray’s Novara Avenue. Wicklow County Fire Service said a house fire was reported at approximately 1:45pm, and crews from both Bray and Greystones were mobilised to the incident.

“The house was smoke-logged and firefighters in breathing apparatus located and extinguished a small smouldering fire within the building. Firefighters remained on scene until approximately 3pm to ensure that the building was clear of smoke and that the fire was fully extinguished,” the Fire Service said in a statement.

This Ryanair flight #FR1959 from Nice to Dublin Airport burst a tyre on landing at Dublin on Wednesday 7th August. The second tyre beside the burst tyre was left hanging off the bogey. The taxiway was blocked and passengers were bussed to the terminal. ~Michael Kelly

Six fire engines including a turntable ladder and foam tender attended a fire in an industrial unit in Ballycoolin, Blanchardstown on Tuesday night 9th April. A number of cars and a showroom were destroyed in what Gardaí believe started from a gas explosion.

Rescuers who saved a young girl in Dún Laoghaire in south Dublin Saturday evening 6th April after she was apparently swept out to sea have said her calm demeanour in the water, as well as the jacket she was wearing, helped her to survive. The child, who is believed to be around seven years of age, was taken to hospital to be treated for her injuries which have been described as non-life threatening.

A multi-agency rescue operation was launched after the alarm was raised at around 8.20pm. RNLI Dun Laoghaire, Irish Coast Guard ground crews and helicopters Rescue 116 (Dublin) & Rescue 117 (Waterford), Dublin Fire Brigade, National Ambulance Service and Gardai attended the scene

Firefighters were called at 7am to vacant buildings alight at Crooksling off the Blessington Road in County Dublin. Seven fire engines including a turntable ladder and emergency tender were sent to the scene.  Traffic restrictions were in place on the N81 due to hose lines on the road.

Dublin Fire Brigade along with our Wicklow Fire Service colleagues took water from a local reservoir to supply the fireground at Crooksling in Brittas. Over 40 firefighters attended the incident. ~@DubFireBrigade X

Dublin Fire Brigades' Tallaght fire station, along with District Officer Bravo seen in attendance for caravan fire on the Fonthill Road near Liffey Valley on Saturday 2nd September. Firefighters in BA's tackled the fire and quickly brought it under control.

A unit from National Ambulance Service closed off the road prior to DFB arriving due to the location of the fire near a main road. Gardai also attended the scene.

County Kildare 15th August 2023


On Tuesday 15th August Kildare Fire Service repsonded to a major fire in a McDonalds restaurant in Newbridge, County Kildare. Firefigthers from across three fire stations in Kildare responded to the fire. Reports suggest that the fire started in a car parked in the drive-thru which then spread to the building.

On Tuesday morning 15th August nine people were taken to safety following a fire off Francis Street. An e-bike battery (not on charge) in a stairwell is believed to be the source of the fire. Dublin 14th August 2023


On Monday night 14th August, three fire engines responded to a fire in a vacant building in Ballybrack, Dublin. Firefighters in breathing apparatus discovered a fire on the ground floor and extinguished the fire. The building was smoke logged and then ventilated to clear the smoke. County Meath 7th August 2023


Emergency services brought a major fire under control in Navan, County Meath on Monday 7th August. The blaze at the Academy Square Apartments, just off Academy Street outside the town centre, broke out in the car park beneath the building at around 7pm.

Damage was caused to a section of the building while a number of vehicles were also damaged. However, no one was injured during the incident.

Firefighters from North Strand and Phibsborough fire stations attended flooding in Clontarf, Dublin on Saturday 5th August following heavy rain overnight. On Thursday morning 22nd June Dublin Fire Brigade were called to reports of smoke issuing from a derelict building off the North Circular Road. Greystones & Rathdrum fire crews with assistance from helicopter bambi bucket drops seen attending a large wild fire on Military Road in the Sally Gap in Wicklow. Gardai also advised that Military Road was closed due to the fire.

County Louth 26th May 2023


Emergency services seen at the scene of a partial wall collapse in the centre of Dundalk, Co Louth on Thursday 25th May. One person was injured and was taken to hospital. Gardaí and units from the fire service attended the scene on Clanbrassil Street in the town. A large pile of bricks can be seen on the footpath outside the building. A number of attempts were made Thursday night 20th April to set forestry plantations on fire near the Corrabut Gap and Nine Stones areas of Mt Leinster. Bagenalstown and Bunclody Firefighters managed to contain and extinguish these fires.

Firefighters seen at the scene of a blaze at the Stonebridge multi-storey car park in Wexford town on Friday 3rd March. Firefighters from across Wexford responded to a 'Major Emergency' at Wexford General Hospital on Wednesday 1st March after a fire broke out shortly after 4pm.

Up to 45 firefighters were involved in tackling the fire over the course of the evening and shortly after 6pm it was declared a “major incident” and the decision was finally taken to evacuate the entire hospital.
